We are a friendly group of instructors who love to share their passion for Nordic Walking and helping people to achieve their goals. Nothing make us happier than to see someone learn about Nordic Walking, fall in love with it and then use it hit their personal weight loss or fitness goals. Nordic Walking London provides walks and classes for everyone across London. We can introduce you to the World of Nordic Walking and provide regular classes close to where you live or work.

You don’t have to be a member and you will always be welcome. Nordic Walking is great fun and our instructors will not only ensure that you reach your health goals but that you have a great time doing it! You will learn all you need to know in a relaxed friendly atmosphere with the Learn To Nordic Walk course. Nordic Walking London looks after its walkers, there will never be a shortage of interesting walks and people to meet!

Denis & Sue Collen

Sue and Den have lived in Harrow for over 20 years but have only recently realised the great potential for improving health, fitness and well-being by exercising outdoors in them. Sue was always a keen tennis and netball player, but after two ruptured Achilles tendons and the beginnings of arthritis in her knees, Nordic walking fitted the need to keep exercising and be outdoors at the same time. Den suffered heart failure in 2010 and was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at the same time. His journey back to health and fitness has been slow but steady, with many lifestyle changes needed. One of these was the need to get more physical exercise and he has undertaken the London to Brighton cycle rider twice. Through Sue he discovered Nordic walking, an activity they have enjoyed together and he brings his passion to share his story and the lessons he has learned with others to Harrow Striders. Harrow has a huge array of free green spaces, parks and woodland areas. Together as Harrow Striders, Sue and Den have developed their Nordic walking programmes around these outdoor spaces to offer a wide variety of walks to meet the differing needs of people in our communities. There are weekly walks in the parks around Harrow and more adventurous walks in the evenings and weekends in the country parks and nature reserves around Stanmore

Catherine Lyon

I discovered Nordic Walking when I was looking for ways to get fit after having my children. I have never been a fan of gyms, and have always had a passion for walking and being outdoors, no matter what the weather! To me, Nordic Walking is the perfect “green” exercise.

I live in Wimbledon and use the wonderful surroundings of Wimbledon Common for my courses and classes.
I can provide poles for all courses and classes. There is a discount on the costs of courses or classes if you have your own poles or if you book & pay for a block of sessions.

Mark Pattinson

Mark is fully licensed to take groups walking in the Royal Parks which means his insurance, qualifications and risk assessments have all been certified and checked.

Mark is also a running coach helping people improve their running technique.  He has trained groups and individuals to prepare for marathons as well as those that just wish to make their Parkrun a bit easier!

Liz Easterbrook

Liz loves exploring the great outdoors while exercising. Nearly all walks start or finish at a cafe or pub where members can enjoy coffee or lunch. Ide Hill Nordic Walking was started by Liz Easterbrook who is a Brand Ambassador to Nordic Walking UK with the aim of creating “Exercise For Everyone”.

The groups are great fun, relaxed and age is not a barrier. Liz is passionate that everyone is given the opportunity to achieve their potential.  Fitness goals can be achieved in a fun way in the best gym of all – the great outdoors! I aim to motivate you along with the other members of the group and the beautiful surroundings.

Daniela Boyce

You don’t need snow…..start walking today.

I am based in North London and run sessions in a variety of locations in Finchley, Barnet, Highgate Woods and Ally Pally. I also teach for the Saracens Sports Foundation and Age UK Barnet and run occasional longer walks around London. Some of my clients have been amazing and have put themselves to the challenge. We have done a few Chickenshed 10k races, with our poles. We have walked 15 miles for Maggie’s Night Hike and 26 of us have done the 14 mile Eye to Eye Moorfields Eye hospital Challenge. Some clients have never ever walked that far before!

Becoming an instructor was the best thing I did. I have many wonderful clients who have felt the benefits of being outdoors, in a group, getting a cardiovascular workout whilst socialising at the same time. The ‘outdoor classroom’ is amazing and varied each week. It has helped many people with many different ailments to improve their stamina, fitness and upper body strength.

Nikkii Barnett

Here at Nordic Walking East London Essex, we are extremely passionate about Nordic walking and are committed to helping the local Nordic walking community achieve their health and fitness goals.

Based in the beautiful Epping Forest, there are a variety classes throughout the week that can be enjoyed with like-minded people. The local Nordic walking community enjoys exercising outside in nature whilst having fun amd making new friends!

I started Nordic Walking in 2016 as a means of keeping fit whilst enjoying the great outdoors. Having got the bug I decided to train as an instructor. Having qualified I have set up The Nordic Way to inspire others to join this walking revolution.

I will be running a varied programme of walks which will include, free taster sessions, learn to Nordic walk, workout walks, ultimate Nordic and adventure walks.

My journey with Nordic Walking began when I was looking for an outdoor activity that was fun, helped me keep fit and was sociable.
I enjoyed it so much that I decided to train as an instructor with NWUK so that I could share the joys of Nordic Walking with others and show them how it would benefit them.

It is suitable for ALL ages and fitness levels as you only walk at the pace that suits YOU.
Like pilates it can help improve your posture, increase your muscle tone but an added advantage is that it also improves your fitness levels.
Walking with poles, helps take the pressure off your joints so can help with neck and back problems as well as giving your upper body a workout.

Diana Gore

I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but have lived in London since 1982. I started Nordic Walking as a substitute for running in April 2011 and fell in love with it. I could immediately see that Nordic Walking offers huge benefits for people who are less fit due to injury, illness, lack of exercise or lack of confidence, and decided to become an instructor.

I wanted further training and completed the next level of instructing that also enables me to work with people who are referred by their doctors for a variety of problems including high blood pressure, back pain, diabetes and joint replacement. I also teach workout classes for those who want a more challenging class.

Martin Christie

Exercise with Friends Nordic Walking Club offers taster sessions, Learn to Nordic Walk courses, and regular classes on beautiful Hampstead Heath.

Exercise with Friends Nordic Walking Club is run by Martin Christie. Martin brought Nordic walking into the UK in 2003, founded Nordic Walking UK nationally and has trained over 2000 instructors. Exercise with Friends aims to be the exemplar Nordic Walking UK club, offering a range of day, evening and weekend group and private Nordic walking classes for all abilities.
